Handmade cradle systems for precision spinning tops

Aevum turns a spinning top into a display piece.

Aevum is a handmade cradle, ring, and concave glass system for precision spinning tops. It holds the top upright, frames it beautifully, and gives it a smooth arena for long, stable spins.

Each early set is individually cast, cleaned, polished, fitted, and paired with a compatible top from the Desire3D workshop.

About the system

Display, spin, and enjoy the object.

A top is made to move, but it should still look special when it is sitting still. The Aevum cradle displays the top upright above the glass arena, turning the set into a small kinetic sculpture for a desk, shelf, or collection cabinet.

The concave glass surface helps guide the top toward the centre of the arena, while the cast ring and cradle give the whole set a finished, mechanical feel. It is for collectors who enjoy precision, handmade metalwork, and the simple pleasure of watching a well-made object spin properly.

Choose the shape you like

Four cradle styles, same purpose.

No Aevum style is better than another. They all hold and display a compatible top in the same way. The choice is simply the design, character, and feel you prefer.

Aevum Orbit

A rounded, balanced design with a smooth sculptural feel.

Aevum Bridge

An arched mechanical form with a stronger architectural look.

Aevum Triad

A three-point design with a more technical, engineered character.

Aevum Flame

A flowing handmade design with a more organic, crafted form. Photos to be added.

What comes in a set

The early sets are complete display and spin sets.

Each listing will show the exact set being offered. Where possible, a short video clip will show the actual top and cradle together.

Made in the workshop

From raw casting to finished cradle.

These are not generic bought-in parts. Each cradle starts as a real metal casting, then goes through cleanup, shaping, sanding, polishing, fitting, and final assembly.

  1. Cast The cradle begins as a poured metal casting from the workshop process.
  2. Clean The raw casting is trimmed, shaped, and prepared for finishing.
  3. Polish The surface is sanded and polished to bring out the metal and form.
  4. Fit The cradle, ring, glass, and top are checked together as a set.

Quick questions

A few simple answers.

Does the set include a top?

The early release sets are planned as complete sets with a compatible top included. Each listing should describe exactly what is included.

Are all styles functionally the same?

Yes. Orbit, Bridge, Triad, and Flame are different visual designs for the same cradle system. Choose the one you like looking at.

Are they handmade?

Yes. The cradles are cast, cleaned, polished, fitted, and finished in small batches. Minor variation is part of the handmade process.

Can I see the actual set?

Where possible, listings will include photos and a short video clip of the exact top and cradle set being offered.

A small stage for a precision top.

Aevum is for people who enjoy the whole object: the top, the glass, the metalwork, the adjustment, and the moment when everything settles into a clean spin.
